Our school

Sacred Heart Primary School has been educating the children of Cunnamulla since 1915.

We believe your family’s experience of our school will be one of fun, where your child will engage in learning in a welcoming and caring community.

Leveraging the unique gifts and talents of our teachers and staff, we focus on ‘care, consistency and curriculum’ to create and sustain the best possible learning environment for your children.

We deliver a full Australian Curriculum and ensure that students have access to the same educational opportunities as their big city counterparts.

There is a student-centric, ‘no excuses’ learning culture in every classroom with clear schoolwide behaviour management and expectations in place.

We have a simple and distinct goal for every student - a year’s growth or more for a year’s learning.  To achieve this, we work with students to practice the Sacred Heart learning dispositions called Habits of the Mind. They are curiosity, persistence, communication, making connections and independence.

As a Catholic community, our Gospel values are lived daily and guided by our Habits of the Heart - belonging, compassion, courage, service and excellence.

We welcome families from all backgrounds and faith traditions, and our learning community works hand in hand with families and the broader community to ensure all students have access to an education that will set them up for high school and a bright future.

A broad range of co-curricular activities including sport, art, in school visits, excursions, academic competitions and musical productions enhance student’s learning.

As active members of our local community, Sacred Primary Heart School students participate in the Anzac Day commemorations, the Paroo Shire Council Youth Committee, Cunnamulla Show, Annual School Fete, Carols by Candlelight and much more.

Our school facilities are fully airconditioned and students enjoy a new and well-resourced library and technology rich classrooms with laptops and iPads. The multipurpose undercover sports area includes basketball, netball and tennis courts and there are also dedicated undercover lunch and play areas and a school oval.

We have a committed group of parents and friends who support the school in many ways from socialising and fundraising to running the school’s tuckshop every Friday.

We invite you to explore the website and find out more about our beautiful school and its community.
